Toshiba 50”firrerv not connecting to internet

I just got this tv and maybe turned it on like 5 times. It doesn’t seem to connect to internet but the weird thing is is that besides turning the tv on and off the remote doesn’t seem to be connecting either. It doesn’t do anything and can’t move anything on the tv. I really don’t want to return it just need some help
