Toshiba 43LF421U21 HDMI Inputs not seeing XBox

Hi,

We just purchaed this TV for my daughter who is now at college.  None of the HDMI inputs are seeing her XBox  when she plugs it in.  It keeps telling her "No Signal"  Any idea what is going on and why it will not see the XBox?

Can you test the xbox on a different input to rule out the Xbox

Now this may sound silly but should be asked.

The Xbox has an HDMI input and output.  Have you verified the Xbox HDMI out is being used.

The remote for the TV

Another basic item

The remote should have a button to set the input that is active. Did you switch between inputs on the TV. It should not automatically switch between input.

Re: Toshiba 43LF421U21 HDMI Inputs not seeing XBox

Hello, Bassngal70,

Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! Getting a new TV is a big deal, so we're honored that you decided to make this purchase with us for your daughter to enjoy at college. That said, I know it's frustrating when a TV isn't working with other devices as intended. That's not the experience we wanted for you or your daughter, but we're glad you said something!

The Xbox should work with the TV if set-up by following these steps:

1. Make sure that your TV’s power cord is unplugged and the Xbox is turned off.

2 Connect an HDMI cable to one of the HDMI jacks on your TV and to the HDMI out jack on the Xbox.

3 Plug your TV’s power cord into a power outlet, then turn on your TV.

4 Turn on the Xbox, then set it to the correct output mode. (It might be helpful to check out the manual for the Xbox model being set-up, as it should be able to walk through how to do that.)

5 On the HOME screen, navigate to the INPUTS row, then select HDMI1, HDMI2, or HDMI3.

Most likely the reason for getting the "No Signal" message is that the TV is not on the HDMI input that the Xbox needs. Bobberuchi also made some excellent suggestions to try, so I recommend testing those out if you haven't already.

However, if you give those steps a try and the TV is still not connecting with the Xbox, our Home Theater Troubleshooting Guide is worth checking out. It offers a lot of suggestions that can help correct a variety of concerns.

Hope that helps, but if you still have questions or concerns, please let us know!

Cheers,
