The picture on my new TV is fuzzy

I picked up a Toshiba 55L510U18 last month. I have been fiddling with the picture settings but I still get a fuzzy picture. I use a PS4 for all my streaming and movie watching, if that is a potential factor. What steps should I take to fix this problem?

Experiencing a fuzzy picture on your new TV is certainly frustrating! I’m sorry to hear that your new Toshiba 55” isn’t displaying a great picture. I’d be happy to provide some troubleshooting tips for you.

 

Can you please double check the settings on your PS4 are set to display the content in 1080p? I believe that may be the issue.

 

The Playstation 4 User’s Guide shares the following: When you set up your PS4™ system, you might need to configure the output for the HDMI OUT port. By default, this is set to automatically match the TV you connect. To configure settings yourself, select (Settings) > [Sound and Screen] > [Video Output Settings].

 

If changing the PS4 settings don’t result in a better picture can you please try a different a HDMI cord? The cord may be faulty, or damaged which can result in a fuzzy picture.

 

Please let me know if those steps don’t resolve your issue!

My PS4 is set to 1080p, but I will pick up another HDMI chord just in case

Hello dbord722,

 

Are you able to watch content via another method like a streaming device, or an antenna? Prior to assuming that it’s the TV it would be a good idea to test the source too. That would allow us to pinpoint the issue is a PS4 to TV issue not a sole TV issue. This would be after you’ve tested that it’s not the HDMI cord.

I got a new HDMI chord but the picture still looks poor. I do not have anything else to watch media with, only a PS4

Since we’re unable to pinpoint if it’s the TV I highly recommend reaching out to Toshiba regarding this matter to see they have any tips, or how they may be able to help under the manufacturer’s warranty. You can give Toshiba a ring at 800-457-7777.
