Hello wishesfre,
Thanks for sharing that you’re also having an issue with your LG soundbar. It’s discouraging to hear that yours is turning on randomly as well. I’d be happy to offer a few troubleshooting tips.
Can you please ensure that firmware is up to date for your sound bar? You can check for an update on LG’s website. Also, please ensure that none of the connections have gotten lose over the years. If you’re outside the manufacturer’s warranty, and the firmware update doesn’t resolve the issue options may not be available to assist you further.

Greetings Gator24,
Thank you so much for joining our community to share your experience. I’m sorry to hear that your soundbar is acting up too, and you’re only 5 days in. As the thread shares at this time we’ve not been able to find a troubleshooting solution that works. I’d highly recommend reaching out the manufacturer to see if they have any advice, and exchanging your soundbar within your Return & Exchange Promise if they don’t.

Ok. Well I think I just fixed the issue.
I too bought a SONY 4K TV sometime last year and connected it via optical which caused me headaches in trying to figure out how to keep it from turning on by itself.
The Problem:
I think Sony TVs send out an optical signal even when the TV is off. I am not sure why it does this but I think it does. Thus, the LG soundbar receives the signal and the AUTO POWER function kicks in and it turns on. Then after inactivity, it turns back off.
The Solution: (Potentionally)
So what I did right now, was:
I turned on my LG bar. Got the Remote to the LG, and toggled off the the AUTO POWER feature by pressing the AUTO POWER button. Then turned it the LG bar off.
So far it has been almost an hour without it turning on. I am still checking it like every 45 seconds.
Issues you all may have with this solution:
Some of you may have issues because you may like the feature of turning on your TV and the LG Bar automatically turning on too without having to turn it on separately.
For me this is not an issue, simply because I hated to see it turn on and also because I use the Logitech 650 Universal Remote, which sends two separate signals to both the TV and the LG Bar.
So if this is an issue for you guys, the solution would be to figure out how to stop the TV from sending Optical signals when it is turned off
Hope this helps you all.

This is not a solution. It is just disabling the very feature that was intended to be used for the TV and SoundBar.

So by turning auto on, we have to manually switch on the LG SoundBar every time?
