Sharp Roku Smart TV

I bought a Sharp Smart tv at best buy back in August, and I just recently got internet service at my home. I'm not able to connect to the network I keep getting a code and tried connecting the tv to the modem as instructed with the ethernet cable but neither device has a hook up for this cable...
Is there any way...you can help me with this issue?

I’m not quite sure I follow. If you’re hard-wiring the television, you would typically hook your tv directly to a router. You CAN connect it to a modem without a router, but that will only allow your tv to connect.

What do you mean when you say “neither device has a hook up for this cable”? Surely a modem or a router has a standard RJ-45, it’s possible the tv doesn’t but then it should usable over WiFi.

If all of this is word soup, you may need to have someone visit your home and install it for you. Unfortunately those services are suspended at present.

Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! Congratulations on getting internet! Getting that set-up to work with your TV should be an exciting time, so I'm sad to hear that instead it is a confusing one. That's not the experience we wanted for you, but we're glad you took the time to connect with us for support. 

 

Jdogg836 is correct that there is a chance that the best option could be to have a Geek Squad Agent come out to your home to get it set-up for you, but we aren't doing in-home services at the moment. However, if it comes to you needing that, you can keep an eye on when those services are up and running again on our site here.

 

Before it comes to that, I'd like to review this further to see if I can try to talk you through getting your internet set-up with your new TV. For me to get started, can you provide me with the model of the Sharp Roku TV you purchased?
