Re: Selling us Atmos, DTS DTSX, True Dolby, Dolby, 5.,1, 7.2, etc., capable AVR's, but

Hey ynotu,

Thank you for joining our community! We’re always happy to have new voices around here. Movies are one of my favorite things, and I understand that quality of sound is super important!

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t have the information you’re seeking today. The information listed on our website for DVDs is provided directly from the production copy of the title in question, and most times doesn’t include the audio format specification. I apologize for any frustration, and will be sure to forward your feedback to our teams that supervise the movie category on BestBuy.com.

In the mean time I’d recommend that you reach out to the production company of the title you’re interested in, and they may be able to assist you with your question.

Sincerely,

It just seems logical to in a marketing sense.  You are selling a ton of AVR's with all this new technology, such as Atmos, etc. Why not put the audio formats in in the description in the ad? Those people you sold those atmos speakers or DTSX avr's to are out there looking for material to check out their new stuff on.

Hey ynotu,

Absolutely! I agree with you that information should be displayed if we're provided it from the production companies.

Like I stated prior I bubbled up your feedback to our teams that in constant contact with our merchant teams.

Ok, I stand corrected...   just realized the terms blu ray and dvd were not interchangable. My mistake. A rookie mistake.

[ Edited ]

I got ya, and you are correct, BBY doesn't actually list the sound formats.

Nowhere on here does it list the sound:

Now amazon KINDOF lists the sound formats... i thnk what it's actually doing is listing the different audio tracks on the disc, and not necessarily the formats:

Unfortunately man, this is the only place i know that lists the sound properly... i guess check here before buying online, or check at the physical store:

Definitely a feature request they hopefully pass on to the team over the website.
