Samsung TV and Denon Receiver sound issues

Hello and thank you in advance for your help.  

We have a Samsung 65" QLED TV (model QN65Q60RAFXZA) and a Denon receiver AVR-X2000.  The TV is somewhat new and the old TV we had was not a smart TV, meaning that the receiver had a bunch of different inputs.  With the smart TV we got rid of all the different inputs and are only using the TV for streaming.  

The problem I am having is I set up the TV's sound to go through the receiver (per the manual) and after a while, the TV sound reverts back to the TV speakers.  

This is quite frustrating.  Any ideas?

I forgot to mention that most of the time, the receiver does not activate. It is on standby but does not recognize that there is audio feed coming in and stays in standby (ie off).  The sound just goes through the TV.  I believe I set up everything correctly to use the ARC but am struggling to make it work.  Rich

Thank you for taking the time to join our community, and for bringing this to our attention. I can understand how that may cause some inconvenience and confusion, as it sounds like the sound isn't working as planned between those two units. By chance, have you noticed that the standby or disconnection happens after a certain period of time of the unit being on?

For clarification, did you set the “HDMI Control” to “On” when setting this up? It looks like the receiver will automatically be defaulted to "Off". If this it the case, then no HDMI signals are passed through the AV receiver’s HDMI output in standby power mode. Let me know when you get the chance to check that out!

Damm even I am having a similar kind of issue, I have searched all over the internet and even have posted on number of threads on different forum, no solution seems to work. I am really frustrated, can anyone of you here help me resolve this issue, I am very much tired now.
