Re: Samsung LCD TV Clicks on and off repeatedly (lnt4671fx/xaa)

By the way Plasma doesn't use a "bulb" like an lcd does. Its a completely different technology. LCD's are back lit with a bulb, with the plasma each individual cell lights up.

Samsung is not the only company to do this by the way. Years ago I had an expensive JVC super vhs deck that had horrible back. I called to get it fixed and the guy knew what it was over the phone. I took it in and he had a stack of them to fix. He said they came adjusted wrong from the factory. Then told me the next thing to go bad would be my power supply. Guess what, about a year later it went bad lol. And this was a 500 dollar vcr in the early 90s. Not a cheapo machine by any standards.

And remember the nightmare with the gen 1 PS2 consoles. I can't believe sony ever sold another one after that mess but they sell a ton of them.

Re: Samsung LCD TV Clicks on and off repeatedly (lnt4671fx/xaa)

Was hesitant to fix it myself but hated the thought of paying a minimum of $250 to take it to a repairman. It took less than an hour to fix and was not difficult at all. The two capacitors, soldering iron and solder cost about $13 at R**** Shack.

Dang.  Now my Samsung LCD is doing this!  Bought it in April of '08 so it's less than 2 yrs old.  Guess I'll try to fix it myself.  The sad part is, I was so happy with it, I just bought a new one for the guest bedroom at Christmas, 6 weeks ago.  Wish I could have a do-over on that purchase.

Has this problem extended to the so called LUXIA or LED series of LCD televisions.  Mine has created a foul odor since opening it out of the box.

Re: Samsung LCD TV Clicks on and off repeatedly (lnt4671fx/xaa)

I have been trying to make up my mind between two Samsung tv's.   One is a 52" 240hz LCD and the other a 55" 120hz LED LCD.  This subject may have helped me make up my mind. I'm now thinking of going with the 52" LCD which is about $450.00 cheaper than the LED.  That will leave me money to buy an extended warantee and a wall mount bracket.  Sounds like the  way to go after reading these posts!

Re: Samsung LCD TV Clicks on and off repeatedly (lnt4671fx/xaa)

I have had the same problem of my Samsung 40" LCD HDTV clicking several times before coming on.  I just got off of Live Chat at the Samsung site.  After a few back and forths, the gal asked me to unplug from power surge strip and plug directly to a wall outlet!!  The clicking stopped and the set came right on after the sound it normally makes.  She suggested I try a newer strip or use a wall outlet.  I was very impressed with this service.  My tv is about 2 years old.

Please spec the capacitors you used for your Samsung LN-t4671FX/XAA. I have the same problem and I need to buy the capacitor before I open the TV.

Re: Samsung LCD TV Clicks on and off repeatedly (lnt4671fx/xaa)

You really need to verify which ones are failing.  They may differ on your tv.  I ordered two different types even after I opened it up just to be certain.  It"s simple, just look at the failing ones and take the information off of the side of the capacitor and measure the diameter and height.   Anyway, I ordered from Newark....

SKU 69K7927 (6 Each)

SKU 70K9723 (6 Each)

The reasoning behind this was that there was't an exact size match so I optioned for two similar types.  I believe one had a body diameter of 10mm and the other 13 mm and also the body height differed from 16mm to 21mm.  Both were 10 V, 5 mm lead pitch, and 2200 capacitance.

I'm not certain which ones I used exactly but I got this info off of my order sheet.  Good luck and be patient.  My repair has been going strong for almost a year now with no problems!

Re: Samsung LCD TV Clicks on and off repeatedly (lnt4671fx/xaa)

I've just started to have this click on and off problem.  Had my Samsung 40in LCD for almost two years.  After some research, I called Samsung Cust. Service Dept using bing.com.  I told them about the problem with the TV.  CSD asked for serial # and model #.  I found them on the back of the TV.  The gave me a ref # and # to a repair shop.  I called around 9:30am and service man was at my home by 1:30pm.  Service man replaced the 4 capacitors and it took about 30 mins.  I watched and it DIDN'T look very difficult.  It didn't cost me anything.  Samsung said they been having this problem with LCD TV.  Samsung paid for the repair and the TV works just fine.

Re: Samsung LCD TV Clicks on and off repeatedly (lnt4671fx/xaa)

My Samsung is doing the same thing. It started by clicking and taking a long time to turn on and over a few months it now just clicks forever and will not turn on at all. Mine is the LN-T4061 40" LCD started have problems before it was 3 years old. I also did not buy the extened waranty as I thought I was getting a good product. I am not planning to by another one.
