Samsung BD-P2550 Blu-ray player

Hello,

Would a Best Buy employee be able to enlighten me whether this player was discontinued or just simply not in stock?  This player is available on your website, for local pick-up.  However, when you actually go to choose a store, most stores don't have any in stock.  =/  It seems to be this way in a lot of Southern California, and I've even checked a state over in Arizona, and they don't seem to have any in stock.  So, can anyone verify for me if this item is discontinued or simply back-ordered?

Thanks for your time and thanks in advance,

Eugene

Well, after checking back on the website earlier tonight, it came back in stock to a store nearby, so I managed to add one to my cart and purchase it on the website before the website went down for maintenance.  Hopefully my order goes through in the morning and it wasn't some weird glitch or fluke where the website was showing it was in stock.  But if any Best Buy employee could answer my question as to whether or not this model is discontinued or simply back-ordered, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Re: Samsung BD-P2550 Blu-ray player

So, a quick update on this.  I received an email this morning saying that this blu-ray player was not in stock at the store, and to call the Best Buy number.  I called the number and got transferred to an Online Sales representative named Shana (sp?).  She checked to see if there were any stores nearby that had this item in stock, and when she saw that it wasn't, she changed my order to be shipped to me.  I asked for the 2-day shipping, and she was able to add that to my order with no problems.  I'm very pleased with this outcome.  After reading through the forums, I was a little scared that this wouldn't be so easy, but my experiences with Shana have left me very happy!  In my opinion, this has been a great customer service experience, and I hope someone is able to commend her on it.

Re: Samsung BD-P2550 Blu-ray player

I was not so lucky.  I placed an order for one in a store, and of course, the store did not have it.  When I called the 800 number they told me they COULD NOT ship it to me under any circumstances.  I asked when it was be available in stores and the person could not tell me.  Can anyone from BestBuy confirm if we can order this as a "ship to item" and if not if and when they will be availabe again?

Re: Samsung BD-P2550 Blu-ray player

Well, this blu-ray player is backordered for me.  So, there's a chance I may not get it after all.  Maybe that's why the person can't ship it to you?  I think at the time I asked them to ship it to me, it wasn't backordered yet.  I don't know...sorry.  Smiley Sad  I did ask a different CSR when they estimated they would get more in stock, and that person wasn't able to answer that question.  Honestly, I'm wondering if this model was discontinued, because they just showed the new Samsung Blu-ray players at CES 2009, and those were the 3600 and 4600 models.  However, I didn't think those would be out til June or so of this year, so I would find it strange that Samsung would just not sell any Blu-ray players until the 3600/4600 were released, which leads me to think that the 2500/2550 is not discontinued just yet.
