I recently moved my 49" Samsung 7000 series TV (approx. 1 year old) from TV1/HDMI to TV2/Coax on my Dish Network. TV2 is in a seperate room. At first I simply moved the Samsung from TV1 to TV2, powered it on and I had pretty much all basic Dish remote functionality with the exception of the following:
1) I only had 2 format settings - neither was optimal (1 aspect ratio was too large/1 had black bars at the top & bottom of the screen)
2) Picture quality was not great - blurry, fuzzy - not as sharp as it was when the same TV was at TV1
I should also add I had the same problems with the previous TV (10+ year old Sony flat screen) but I never worried about it since it was just a 2nd TV. However, after reading some posts online I decided I would try to get the Samsung working more optimally. Here's where the current problem starts....
Thinking I could make things better, I decided to reset the Samsumg TV (Home > General > Start Setup}. During the set up (and I have run it MANY times) it detects that there's a coax connection but at the part where I choose my provider I do not see a Dish option like I do on my TV1 setup (I just added a new 55" Samsung QLED). I tried choosing the only 2 options that seems to apply - I see a local OTA option & I've also tried the "don't see my provider" option. I'm also choosing the option to scan both Air & Cable. I also tried running the Auto Program wizard MANY times. I think the scan found 2 cable channels ( I assume those are 62 & 60 - see # 2 below) and I think 19 TV+ channels. When I finish the wizard here's things that don't work or appear to be abnormal
1) I do not see a Dish Network option in my Sources options - only TV+ (I don't have anything else connected)
2) I can only see 2 Dish Network channels - 62 (TV1) & 60 (TV2) and I only see them by scrolling through the channels with one of my remotes (Dish TV2 remote or Samsung remote)
3) I do see TV+ channels wonderfully. However, I have no Dish menu and cannot select any more Dish channels other than 62 or 60. Using the TV connected to TV1 I can see that my channels are set as follows: TV1/CH 62/Air - TV2/CH 60/Air
4) Pressing the Guide button on my Dish remote brings up a TV+ guide - not a Dish guide. This may be just a matter of programming the TV for the Dish remote - right now that's not my primary concern (unless the lack thereof is the root of the whole issue???)
5) I only have 1 format setting - that 1 setting is pretty much an optimal aspect ratio setting but only having 1 setting seems odd, especially since I at least had 2 before resetting the TV and had 5 when the TV was on TV1
So since the TV previously detected the receiver before resetting it I know that it worked on the same channel (60) as TV2 is currently set to. I had a DIsh Network connection option, I had full Dish remote function, including the Dish guide and I had 2 format settings.
My suspicion is that I may need to find another channel combination (I tried a few but didn't exhaustively test them all) or program my remote to work with the TV. However, since it worked previously I'm not sure that's the issue. I've tried just about every other trick I can think of other than bringing the Samsung back to where TV1 is, connect it and hopefully get it back in the ball park. Oh, I've also reset the TV to factory defaults. I'm out of ideas other than calling Dish (my last option based on their track record).

So, big revelation today....
Batteries in the Dish remote make a big difference! I'm now at least back to the point where Dish Network shows up in the Sources and the DIsh remote works as expected. I didn't have to run through the reset or auto channel scan again, it just worked after changing the batteries. I still only have 2 format choices but at least I'm back to square one.
I remembered having an issue long ago. I can't even remember what thissue was. But I remember being floored when the Dish tech told me to replace the remote batteries. My first thought was "What the heck?! The guy doesn't even know what he's talking about!". But I changed the batteries and, voila, problem solved!
So now my now issue becomes how to I optomize my 1-year old Samsung for TV2? Is there some majic setting I'm missing? Do I do another reset or auto channel scan?

Small correction t my last post....
I still do not see Dish Network in my Sources, but then I can't say it was ever there before and maybe you don't see it on TV2.

So my assumption is that no one from BestBuy actually monitors & responds to these posts???
Anyway, I think I've figured out the issue. Dish confirmed it for me. My existing receiver is a 722 and its output to TV2 will not support 4k, only "standard" (whateer that means). Apparently even the TV1 output is not 4k so my new QLED is kind of overkill for my existing receiver.
The answer from Dish is a Hopper 3 (TV1) and a 4k Joey (TV2). $15 more/month and about $150 in upgrades & another $95 in technican fee or a $9.99/month protection plan.
It's a case of the neverending loop of trying to keep all your equipment current.

Welcome to our community! I also for the slight delay in our response due to being busier than usual. Thank you for sharing you were able to give Dish a call to see what their suggestions were. I’d be happy to explain their response a bit, and offer some alternatives that may be options.
Usually, only one input on a TV is HDMI HDCP rated. This is the rating that’s necessary to communicate 4K signals. Also, your receiver didn’t the technology to push out that kind of signal previously. This is why you may have experienced different connection results and such.
Have you considered cutting the cord with Dish, and moving to a streaming based subscription? I know that may not be an option you’d like to explore, but those upgrade costs can be a bit hard during this time of year. Also, cutting the cord can be more cost effective too the rest of the year! Let us know if you want to look into that option. We’d be happy to make some recommendations on products, and services.
