I have a similar issue. I have had the FireTV for a couple years and just started running my surround system to the set. The ARC HDMI port stopped working and I have been fussing around with this for 2 weeks. Tried new cables, tried resetting my receiver, but at the end of the day I think this Toshiba model doesn't have the right specs for the ARC HDMI port. Any suggestions Best Buy?

Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! Although I wish you were connecting with us under happier circumstances, I'm glad that you took the time to share your experience with us. As someone who loves to relax by putting on a good show, I know how frustrating it can be when your TV isn't working with the surround sound as expected.
Based on what you've told me, it does sound like it would be best to bypass the ARC function. Instead you can run a dedicated optical cable from the TV to the receiver. You would then want to turn off your TV speakers. To do that, go the Home menu and select Settings. Then select Display & Sounds, where it should show the option of Select Audio Output. Once there, select TV Speakers and change the setting to off.
If you need more help with that, you can also review the directions on page 19 of the Toshiba Fire TV Edition User Guide.
Hope that helps!
