I used to have a receiver which when hooked up to my DVD player worked fine with my speakers
I now have a Samsung soundbar
Need to disconnect optical cord from my att cable box and plug directly into my soundbar
When I use Roku for Netflix-no sound
Is there a device to solve problem?
Do I need a receiver ?

What happened to the sound bar that came with the Kuro?  You should hook that back up.

Did you connect the new sound bar input to the outputs that the Kuro has for the Kuro Soundbar.

If you hook it up wihtout Arc you most likely need to go into the Kuro menu and switch the audo to no speaker as the Kuro is trying to send sound via the regular outputs.

The Pioneer Kuro is a monitor that hasn’t any
speakers
I used to connect it to a receiver and then to speakers
Instead of a receiver I have a Samsung soundbar and the cable box works through it
However there is only picture and no sound with my Roku

The Pioneer Kuro should have come with a soundbar that attaches to the bottom of the TV.  It has regular speaker wire that plugs into the black and red speaker outs on the back of the TV.
