I have a small subwoofer that I would like to connect to the tv. Will the optical out be controlled by the tv remote so that the volume of both the subwoofer and tv speakers adjust simultaneously.

Hi there, Santin72,
Thank you for reaching out to us here on our Forums Page. For my better understanding, had you purchased this subwoofer independently or packaged with a sound bar?
Thank you!

Purhcased it separately. It's a older Yamaha 40watt. I used it on my Sony LED (died after 8 years) through the head phone out 3.5MM. Can't do that with the LG OLED C1 as the volume control are separate and independent from one another. Manual states that the optical device out + tv speaker volume can be controlled simutaneously with remote. I am hearing mixed signals on this and before I buy a optical to analog converter, I want to make sure.
Thanks

Hi again, Santin72,
It is my initial impression that you would require a receiver to be plugged into your TV via the optical port, however all audio will come out of the receiver, leaving the subwoofer to be the only speaker. That said, you'd possibly want to consider picking up additional speakers to complete your setup.
Thank you for your patience here.
