Hi,

I am wondering if the LG LAS450H will work with my Vizio E420i-BO (2014 model) tv? Would I need any special cables?

I have my cable box, xbox one and blu ray player all via HDMI. 

These are input's I have.

3 HDMI 

1 USB

1 Audio Out

1 Digital Optical Audio Out

1 Component In

1 Composite IN

Hello Naydeen71,

I think you have picked out a great soundbar! The LG - 2.1-Channel Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer is highly rated among our customers and should be compatible with most newer televisions.

Since you have the Vizio E420i-BO, I do not see any issues with connecting the two devices. From what I can see, your TV does not have built-in Bluetooth, so I would personally connect it through a digital optical audio cable, which is not included and would need to be purchased separately. Remember that you may need to change the settings on your TV to recognize the external speaker if you go this route.

I see it comes with a USB cable would that be used to connect sound? Sorry I have no idea about audio =) If not I will just purchase an digital opital cable. Thanks =)

Hey Naydeen71, 

Thanks for the follow-up question. The USB cable that is included is most likely an adapter that is typically used to help you connect USB devices with audio files (phone, mp3 player, thumb drive, etc). So you would still need to connect using either a HDMI cable or an optical cable. 

I did notice while looking into this that the product manual posted on LG's site says there is a digital optical audio cable included in the box but they do not list this on our site or on their main product page. So, who knows, you may not have to purchase one after all! Definitely would be worth looking into.

I got the soundbar today=) It did come with that optical cable. They should include that for what comes in the box desciption. None the less I am very happy with my purchase!! Sounds terrific! Thanks again for your help
