Yes you are absolutely correct!! The red connection is definitely the problem. Just remive that connector from the dvd player.Thanks for the tip!!

Glad I looked up this post! I would have NEVER thought a loose a/v wire could cause such nose. I was about to replace my dvd player and now I aren’t.

Make sure your not plugging the red composite rca cable into the red component jack labelled Pr. I made that mistake. Created a buzz/hum noise in the right speaker.

Easy peasy. Was playing DVD. While to and DVD on, I disconnected red cable from back of TV. Now, I'm watching TV/DVD, and there's no more loud buzzing.
