What are rainchecks?

On other sales, stores can sometimes offer a raincheck, meaning they will honor the sale price when the item comes back into stock.  There will be *NO* rainchecks on Black Friday.  Read that sentence again...because I do not want you having any false hopes.,  Understand fully that there is absolutely no chance of rainchecks on any item on sale during Black Friday.

K. The thing that im worried about is showing up and im like 15th in line, cuz there's a chance of me waiting for days and not getting the tv. Can I call bb and ask how many tvs will be in stock that day, so I will know weather I can stay or not.

On the web it says there's a minimum of 10 per store, so basically if I'm 10th or less I will for sure stay and get it. But if I'm 15th then it's iffy, and that's why it would be nice to call and ask how many tvs there would be.

*DO NOT* get your hopes up!  The website can be way off...your store could only have 2 or 3 of the model you want.  I want more than anything to make you understand that your chances are not very good....it is the nature of the beast.  Be aware that store employees can also purchase items on Black Friday, so even if your store has several of that model, that does not mean that they will all be available on Black Friday.  Good lluck...I hope you get one.  Just don't set yourself up for a big disappointment.

From my experience, whatever the minumum the ad says, the store will usually have ATLEAST double. Now I've worked in larger stores so that will have an effect also. They also give out vouchers one to two hours before the store opens. They do this so you can do other shopping and still be able to purchase what you waited in line for. Honestly if you want something that's in the front page in the ad I would plan on getting in line around 7pm the day BEFORE thanksgiving. Some people even bring a tent. If you live fairly close to the store you could also drive by to see if anyone is in line yet.

We used to have this lady that we called "ebay lady," because she would actually pay people to wait in line for her then sell the product on ebay.

Just incase you cant read, the flyer says 10 minimum per store, so if you are not the first, or even the first 20 ask what they are there for, Ive been first and been 30th and got what I showed up for both times.

around here 5pm thanxgiving night is fine, you dont have to wait 2 days, but thats here, if youre down south maybe, all I know is Ill be in the top 10 and getting every slip they offer me.

To set the recorde straight...many stores will have the minimum quoted, or less (yes, that happens as well).  Blanket statements about stores have double or more than is advertised is just plain wrong.  Some stores will, most stores won't.

My advice still stands:  the closer you are to the head of the line, the better your chances of getting what you came for.  If that means camping at the store two days before, then that is what it takes.  If the line starts at 5pm on thanksgiving, then you need to be in line at 5pm...not 5:30pm. 

Believing that your individual store will have minimum or more quanitities is just seeting yourself up for possible disappointment.  If you are serious, and truly want something, being at the head of the line is the onoy way to give yourself the absolute best chot at getting it. Being "30th in line" may not be good enough.

it really depends on your location, how many best buys are around you, how many of the other stores that also have deals are around, and so forth.  if you were in my town and lining up in the morning on thanksgiving day, odds are you would be 2nd or 3rd in line and have your pick.  That's mainly because there are just so many best buys around me, as well as a few stores that are known for having even better deals.....  if you are planning on going to that store down in florida that was on the news, it may be a little more difficult to get in the spot to get one of the coveted tickets.  

also to answer your later question, rainchecks are something that stores normally would give out if a product was not available, so you could get it at that price another day when they replenish their stock.  rainchecks are never going to be available for black friday deals.  

Good luck in your first black friday experience!  Best buy is a good one to start with.  they know how to cater to the black friday crowd  

BTW, did you see that some best buys are going to project the last harry potter movie on a wall so the line has some entertainment?
