Hisense Roku TV

For some reason, every time I turn on my Roku TV and I go to use any button besides the power button, my TV automatically shuts off. If I don’t use any button it remains on until I turn it off myself. I reset the TV twice but it still isn’t working.

Re: Hisense Roku TV

Hey there, DesiraeGonzalez,

Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! Your TV should be a source of joy and relaxation, so we appreciate you letting us know when it's not operating the way it should. I'm happy to step in and see what we can try so that you don't have to worry about your TV turning off whenever you touch the remote.

That was smart of you to reset the TV to see if that would fix things! That's a great first step, but I think it didn't work because the issue seems to be with your remote, not the TV. From what you've described, it seems like the power button is jammed and that's what's causing the TV to keep turning off when you use the remote.

I can talk you through the steps for how to clean your remote so that it should work better going forward!

  • Before you clean the remote, remove the batteries.
  • Turn the remote upside down and shake it to get out any debris. You can also use a cleaning duster to get out any debris stuck in the remote.
  • Put some rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and use it to clean the remote, being careful to not get liquid inside of the remote.
  • Then use a cotton swab with a little bit of rubbing alcohol to clean around the buttons of the remote. If you have anything them seems jammed between the keys and not coming up, you can use a toothpick to try and get it dislodged.
  • Once your remote doesn't have debris stuck in it, hit the power button rapidly about 10 times to try to get it unstuck. You can try that to the other buttons as well one at a time in case any other buttons are stuck.
  • You can then put the batteries back in and see if your remote works like normal!

I think that will do the trick, but if you continue to have issues with your remote please let me know! The more details you can provide about what's going on and have already tried, the better I can attempt to help!

Cheers,
