Fire TV Default Input

I cant get my TV to default to HDMI 1 when I turn it on. If I go to "Settings > Display & Sounds > Power On I don't have the option to use Last Input. My only choices are "Home Screen" and "Recent Row". I really don't want to have to tell the TV which input to use every time I turn it on.  Any suggestions?

Hello, daknife –

Thanks for joining our community! Your new TV should give you more options the more you use it. However, I can’t guarantee that it will spark a “Last Used” input option. Can you please share the model number of your TV with us? I’d be happy to do some digging to see what other suggestions the manufacturer may have.

Respectfully,

Re: Fire TV Default Input

I attempted to repower the TV and I checked for firmware updates. I still have the issue. My TV doesnt seem to be smart enough to figure out I dont want to have to select the input that I always use.

Re: Fire TV Default Input

I have the Insignia brand Fire TV that I was using the Last Input function on power up since I bought it.  It quit working about three weeks ago.  I was told by Insignia help that it was a software update that caused the problem of last input to no longer work, and that it should be fixed in a future software update.  Meanwhile, I did a factory reset on the TV, and the last input on power up works again for now.  I suppose until the tv is again updated with the bad release of software.  I was told about the software update when I had to call help to get the TV and it's remote to work together when doing the factory reset.
