I have a Dynex 40", approoximatey 2 years old. The TV will shut off and on, but while watching it the entire TV screen went black and nothing I could do would get it working again, Is this an issue with these? I do not know if we should invent in a new TV or if it is fixable at a reasonable cost.

Any ideas?

Frustrating to hear about your TV situation. 

Did you happen to purchase a service plan on the TV?

if so you should contact Geek Squad 

If not I think I would suggest purchasing a new TV as costs can get high, even just to look at it.

If you want to stay with 40".  This model is moderatly priced.
