Connect both dvr and modem to Panamax 4300

I have a separate dvr and modem that I would like to connect to the Panamax 4300 surge protector. The Panamax has 2 separate in/out coax connections but they appear to be independent. Currently I have a splitter attached to my coax cable coming from the wall with each end going to their respective device bypassing the Panamax.

Any suggestions on how to utilize the Panamax for these is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Connect both dvr and modem to Panamax 4300

The  Panamax 4300 as you mentioned has 2 pairs of universal input and output.  You can input the cable from the wall into the 4300 and then split it on the output.  Or from your splitter you currently have in place simply put the cable into one and the modem line into the other.

However, you shoud be aware that the more times you split the coax and have it go through something your signal might degrade.

Thank you. I tried splitting it on he output but now there is a delay in the tv.  Maybe I'll try a new cable.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Personally I don't run my coax through a protector just the electric.

Maybe try splitting it before the input then.

And make sure your using a high end splitter. something with a signal loss of 3.5db or less.

And look at your COAX, there should be a designation on it.  The better COAX for running in your home is going to be CAT6,

If you have CAT4, like my house did) it could be an issue also.
