sounds frustrating.
If the TV is not changing channels with the remote my first suggestion would be to change batteries. and make sure there is nothing in between your remote and the sensor on the TV.
However, if your physically pressing the channel button on the TV and it is not changing then I would think your TV is on the fritz and a new TV may be your better option. Getting it fixed could be pricy.
