Brand New Fire TV...Remote stopped working.

I just bought an Insignia™ - 43" - 4K UHD TV - Smart - LED - with HDR on July 25th and the remote has already stopped working. The power button on it works fine, but every other button has stopped working. I tried replacing the batteries. I tried taking out the batteries and pressing every button twice.

It is still not working. I have until Aug 23rd to return this TV so if I cannot get this fixed by mid-August I am so taking this TV back. Any sugestions?

Re: Brand New Fire TV...Remote stopped working.

Hi there, PhillipPrice,

Thank you for taking the time to write in to us, and for joining us here on the Best Buy Forums!

Getting a new TV is certainly exciting, and I understand that your remote isn't working optimally with your new TV and wanting support with this. Based on the information you've given, it sounds like there may be an issue with the pairing of the remote to the TV itself. I would suggest following the steps provided in Amazon's Get Help Pairing Your Fire TV Remote article for your particular remote.

If these steps are not working out for this issue. please let me know, in addition to providing the model number of your TV, so I can review this further.

Best Regards,

Re: Brand New Fire TV...Remote stopped working.

Have you tried a hard reset/restart on the TV, since the controler can send a power on comand it sounds like thats not the issue. All contorlers do is shoot differnt kinds of infred light, if the tv is only responding to base commands like power and maybe volume, then it sound more like a TV issue. Try unplugging the TV, waiting a couple minuets, and plugging it back in. If that dosent work I sugest contacting Insignia, sometimes bestbuy might give you problems with the return, since they arnt techinicly suppost to take it if its a damaged product, that falls under manufactures warenty. Even though thats the case, alot of the time they will still take it, expecially if your friends with one of the managers Smiley Wink
