Hello, MinnDakota,
Thanks for joining us here on the community forums. I can understand wanting to get a Bluetooth earbuds to work with an older tv. In order to accomplish this, you would need to purchase a Bluetooth transmitter, and then pair it to your earbuds. You can see a list of available units here.
Regards,

I don't know who your TV provider is but with Comcast on the newer cable boxes, they allow you to pair bluetooth audio devices with their boxes. Our 4K box allows this. Have not tried it with the wireless box in the bedroom. Also with Roku I am not sure if you use them or not but there is also a phone app to control the device and I believe on some roku models you can plug in earphones to your phone to listen to the audio.
Aaron found some models for you to look at but you will want to take a look at how your analog audio output looks so that you will have the room to comfortably plug it into your TV without space constraints. Also take a look at streaming alternatives like the Google ones which I believe allows you to pair bluetooth audio devices.
