what is the difference between sony s500 and sony s550 blue ray players.

Hey Sonny,

There are at least two features that you’ll find on the BDP-S550 that you won’t find on the BDP-S500:

• An external memory slot
• A LAN (100) terminal

The external memory slot is required for the BDP-S550 to play some additional BD-Live content from certain Blu-ray discs, while the LAN terminal allows the player to directly connect to the internet for firmware updates.
