I just purchased an Amazon Fire TV Omni Series 50". At power-up, it always begins with Fire Home Screen (or Profile select if you use profiles). How do I set it up so that it either returns to the input it was using at power-off, or defaults to an input at power-up?
e.g. most use is from cable TV plugged into HDMI-1. I should NOT have to select HDMI-1 EVERY TIME I power up.

Of course, this is the intended feature of an Amazon Fire TV, the apps are where Amazon makes their money. They want you to use them almost exclusively. With that said, other brands that offer FireTV (Insignia, Toshiba) have a specific setting to configure it to return to a specific input. I could not find an Owner's Manual for this model, it seems that the only thing provided online is the quick start guide.
A workaround would to be to use Alexa, telling it to "Turn on TV to HDMI 1". I have set up a ton of tvs in the field, but never set up an Amazon-branded FireTV.

Thanks for the replies.
Between this issue, and others such as not having an IR reciever for using with non-Amazon remotes, I will be returning this TV. It was not well thought out at design, and the voice response is poor at best. It is also confusing because even when voice commands work, there is a delay that makes you wonder if she heard you.

I guess I'm too late, but this suggestion worked for me:
Settings > Display & Sounds > Power On > Choose Last Input
I found it on this forum for a different model, so it may not apply.
The title of the post on this forum where I found the answer:
Want to bypass Fire TV home screen and go directly to HDMI input on power on
