Hey,

I like that you’re asking questions before jumping into a purchase. I also find out if what I am about to buy will meet my needs before making a purchase. For a TV to be able to work with a Blu-ray player, the TV has to accept a 1080p input. To find out if your specific model TV accepts a 1080p signal you could contact Sony at www.sonystyle.com or you could call Sony at 1-800-222-7669. Keep in mind that even if your TV does accept a 1080p signal, it will only be displayed at 1080i, and the only way to take full advantage of a Blu-ray player is to have a TV capable of 1080p resolution. I hope this information helps with your purchase.

Thanks,
Allan

taking a 1080p source and taking it a small step down to 1080i will still be an amazing picture... much better then taking your 480i source in a standard dvd and trying to scale it to a bigger and better picture.  blu-ray...highly recommended!
