One of the most common questions we get from our customers is “how do I use my new technology to get the most from it.” While we’re happy to answer specific questions for you in our stores and Geek Squad Precincts, sometimes you need some extended time dedicated to training. Luckily, we have several options to help you get the knowledge and experience you need to use your technology to the fullest. This article is designed to let you know what training options we offer, and which option may be best for you.
Samsung Phones, Tablets, and SmartThings
We are lucky to be the home of Samsung Experience Shops in select Best Buy locations. While Samsung Experience Experts are available in those stores to answer questions you may have about your Samsung products, for some folks a more structured atmosphere works better for learning how to use their products.
If this description fits you, a Samsung Skills Workshop may be the best way for you to learn. If you head over to Samsung’s Workshop page, you can plug in your ZIP code and see what workshops are available near you. The lineup of workshops is always evolving, but you’ll usually find options for both beginner and advanced seminars on the use of Samsung Galaxy phones and tablets.
Be sure to register your spot to make sure there’s enough room for you on the day you decide to come in, as space is limited.
Sometimes you just want to sit with a Geek Squad Agent to help you though how to use your new technology, or how to do specific things with is. In that case, we offer a One on One Precinct Tutorial in our stores, where a Geek Squad Agent will spend time with you, one on one, and answer your technology questions and show you the things that you need to know.
Because these are personalized tutorials, we want to know a bit both about you and what you want to learn about before the appointment takes place. We want to make sure that you get an Agent with expertise in the area you want to learn about, and give them time to prepare to give you the best experience possible. We ask that you please call ahead to your local store or set up a reservation for a consultation to discuss what you want out of your tutorial, go over the costs, and schedule it. If you are a Best Buy Total Tech Support member, you can get 30 minute 1-on-1 training in-store for your computer included with your membership. You can schedule your appointment through the previous link, or even by downloading our Best Buy Home app for Android or iOS devices. Simply log in to your My Best Buy account once in the App or, if you don't have one, sign up. Then tap on the "Support" button in the lower right corner of the app. From there you'll want to select the option to "Schedule In-Store Appointment." The app will then collect some information about your device and help you get your reservation set up.
If the computer you need help with is too big to bring in to your local Best Buy, or if traveling to a store is inconvenient, we can come to you. In order to purchase an in-home one hour basic training, you can head in to your local Best Buy store. You can also purchase the service at this link. Once you receive your confirmation email, give us a call at (800) GEEKSQUAD or (800)-433-5778 to schedule a time for an Agent to come out to your home.
