external monitor connection to MacBook Pro (has Thunderbolt port)

Just tried adaptor RF-AP305 (mini DisplayPort to HDMI) and it doesn't work. Having the following alternatives on the (LG) monitor :

DVI-D   D - SUB and HDMI

on the computer: Firewire 800 and Thunderbolt

what alternative paths are there? Is one more efficient than another ?

No gaming , movies or photoshop applications are planned.

Re: external monitor connection to MacBook Pro (has Thunderbolt port)

Hello Vincev,

I would suggest that you connect the adapter to the Mac, then connect the monitor to the adapter via HDMI cable. Once you have done that, turn the resolution down to 800x600 and restart the computer. If the issue still persists, I would suggest taking it to the place of purchase, along with the receipt, to obtain service as unit may be in need of repair.
