Rocketfish

I purchased a rocketfish RF-HTLF23 and when I tried to install the mount, I found my wall studs to be 19in apart, not 16.  The 19in span is beyond the size of the frame.  Do I return this product, or do you have a work around?

Thanks for joining our community! That's a tough situation.

The mount is designed to attach to those studs, so I would not recommend attaching it to the drywall. It's likely to fall, and to damage both the television and your home. I don't have a workaround for you, so I suggest returning this mount to the store under the Best Buy Return & Exchange Promise.

Thanks KyleR.  I took the TV mount back to best buy and I happened upon an installer.  He suggested I return the RocketFish and get the Sanus BLT2 (if you don't have the BLT2, find the spacing between your studs then check out the display at best buy or discuss it with the installers).  The BLT2 isn't the full motion type, but it fit the studs perfectly.  And is probably more than adequate for my use.  After completing the installation, I found that the Sanus mount is very practical, it will fit any distance between 1 and 24in (though the directions say you shouldn't go less than 16in for proper stability).  The slots are spaced evenly and you can slide the TV on the adapter so that the TV is still centered on the wall though the studs are not.  And it was super easy to install.
