Did you get Model:RF-WRSK18
It should come with a transmitter and receiver. The transmitter that connects to your STRDH790 and then a receiver that connects to your speakers.
Basic questions. Did you plug the receiver and transmitter into a power source. If so, by any chance are those sources controlled by a wall switch and it may have been turned off.
When connecting the speaker inputs into the transmitter from your RF-WRSK18 and connected the speaker outputs on the receiver to the speakrs. Can you verify that the same was connected on both ends. Meaning Red out for your Amp goes to the Red Input on the transmitter and the Red output on the receiver is going to the red input on the speaker. Same for black.

Well that is distressing to me. I am plannign on buying the same system for my home theater as I cannot run wires to the rears.
Another basic question. Your receiver should have multiple output formats. Meaning 2 speaker, 3 speaker, surround.
Did you try changing the output. Just my tought since you could verify that it does work with the fronts.
And is sound going to the reciever from the TV not commong

Sorry, what I meant was there should be a button on your remote to set the output.
I have a Yamaha and the remote can switch between just using The Fronts and Center and all five of my speakers.
I only have the fronts, center, and sub hooked up at the moment, which is why I am looking at this unit.
Sorry for the basic troubleshooting questions. Do you have your system set up so sound is going to the receiver from the TV? And if so does your TV support 5.1 and/or 7.1 out put. And if it does is there a setting in the TV to change the sound out put? Now what is more common AVR is to have all devices feeding into the Receiver and only an HDMI (ARC) going to the TV set.
Also (and once again I apologize) are you certain that your source for testing was supplying sound for the Rears.
I am tempted now to go out and buy mine so I can test this out.
I am looking at your manual now, that receiver does support 2.1 through 7.1 including 5.1.2
The buttons on your remote I am referring to are just below the buttons that say TV FM Pairing (bluetooth)
Try pressing the 2ch/multi and the Pure Direct buttons. If the Front Surround button had been pressed then only the front speakers would be working.

How do they sound?
Avatar is good movie to surround is Star Wars: The force awakens. Specifically the opening scene of Rey exploring the ruins of the star destroyer.
But one of my favorites is Avatar. When Jack is making his first exploration in Pandora.
Surround is not all about loud noises and explosions. The two I listeed with their parts are going to give you subtle sounds.
My local theater has a supreame sound system and I distincly remember watching Avatar and that scene and all the sounds coming from behind me.
