Hi, I have had the Rocketfish WHTIB wireless system for years, and it has worked perfectly. Strangely, this week the speaker started making a crackling sound. I have tried the troubleshooting steps of unplugging both units, holding the power button for 30 seconds on both units, re-pairing the devices, etc. Nothing works.
When the sound is playing, I can hear it but it is distorted.
When no sound is playing, there is cracking and sometimes I hear interference.
I also verified that the last new wireless device that came into the house was over a month ago. Thoughts on what can be done?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hello jeffmomm,
Welcome to Community@ Rocketfish™!
Have you tried different speakers, or a different source device? Something you can also try is unplugging the sender, and seeing if the reciever and speakers still have static and interference? If the unit is distorting the audio, it may have developed a fault somewhere in the line.

Hi Jon,
When the transmitter is off, or unplugged, the crackling stops. I didn't try a different speaker as that test seemed to eliminate that as an option.
Is there anything else I can try, or is it faulty and needs to be replaced?
Thanks,
Jeff

Hello jeffmomm,
Thank you for responding!
Try unhooking your source device from the sender, and see if the crackle stops. If it does, connect the sender to a different source. If the crackle does not stop, then the issue would appear to be in the sender itself in which case replacing the unit will most likely be necessary.

I disconnected the speaker wires between my stereo and the transmitter, and the crackling continued. When I unplugged the transmitter, the crackling stopped. I hooked everything back up and the crackling returned. I don't have a 2nd source to try this with, but I am convinced the transmitter is broken.

FYI - went a bought a new one last night and hooked it up to the same source and speaker. Everything is working fine now. Thanks, Jeff
