Rocketfish HDMI splitter 2-way

I recently purchased a Rocketfish HDMI 2-way splitter.  I am trying to use 2 external monitors with my laptop.

I have a picture on both monitors.  However, it is the same picture which is not what I want.  How do I get the monitors to work together so I can stretch the display across both?

I have tried many things, including getting the laptop to detect the second monitor, which is doesn't.  I have restarted, completely shur down, disconnected all cables for a number of hours, made sure the drivers are up to date, and a few other things and nothing works,

What is the solution?

Re: Rocketfish HDMI splitter 2-way

Right click on one of the monitor and select Display Settings

You should get a dialog that shows both monitors, numbered 1 and 2

If you select identify it will show you which monitor is which.

Select one of the montors and it will highlight

If you scroll down to where it says Multiple Displays.  Change the drop down to Extend desktop to this display

There is also a check box to make one of them the main display.  By default one of them will be main display.

Make sure scale and layout have the same settings for both monitors.  It is also a good idea to keep the scale at 100%

The rectangles of the monitors near the top. You can move them around with your mouse.  Optimally you want them side by side and lined up.

Re: Rocketfish HDMI splitter 2-way

Sorry I read it again and I see your connecting to a laptop

On your keyboard your F2 key may have a picuture of 2 monitors.  Or a different F2 may have it.  Press the FN  key and the F2 key and it should also extend your display.  Try this if the first suggestion does not work.
