RF-WHTIB dropping connection intermittently

I've had my RF-WHTIB for about 18 months with no issues. In the past month, I get speaker "pops" where there's a sudden crackle in the speakers connected to the device. Today, I noticed while walking by that the light was flashing like there was no connectivity. It then quit blinking and the sound was restored, but only temporarily before it dropped out again and started blinking and then came back on and then off, and you get the idea. It may stay on 10 seconds, it may stay on a minute, then it seems to drop for 5-10 seconds and come back. Any ideas?

Re: RF-WHTIB dropping connection intermittently

Hello Bulmoss,

Welcome to Community@ Rocketfish™!

In this case the best thing to do is to power off both the sending and receiving unit for at least 30 seconds. When you turn them back on if the light is flashing on one or both units you will want to pair them, as this indicates that they have lost connection with each other.

To pair these units you will need to press and hold the “Connect” button on the sender unit (on the bottom) and then do the same for the receiver (on the back). When you do this you will place the units in pairing mode for 30 seconds during which time the LED lights will blink at a faster rate. If they continue to blink after 30 seconds have passed please power them off and repeat the above process.

Regards,

Tom

Re: RF-WHTIB dropping connection intermittently

I am now having a very similar issue and went through the troubleshooting steps, but it continues to go in and out and blink intermittently. It seems to pair fine, and the light is solid and the sound is working, but then it starts going in and out irregularly. Additional ideas?

Re: RF-WHTIB dropping connection intermittently

Hello luckichap,

Welcome to Community@ Rocketfish™!

I would suggest a power reset. Unplug both units, and while their unplugged hold down the power button on each unit for about 30 seconds each. After that time release the button, plug units back into power and turn back on.

Re: RF-WHTIB dropping connection intermittently

I am having the same issues as the above people with the sender and receiver intermittently connecting and disconnecting, causing the speakers to go on and off. I have tried all of the above suggestions (power resets and reparing), but continue to have the same problem.

Has anythone ever found a solution to this issue?

Re: RF-WHTIB dropping connection intermittently

Hello Dave,

Thank you for inquiring!

If you have gone through the troubleshooting, it may be a new device causing interference, or the transmitter may be getting weak over time. If you are still within the 1 year manufacturer warranty period you can take the unit and receipt into the Geek Squad desk at you local store for review.
