My grandmother uses these headphones so she can hear the TV and not blast everyone else out of the house. She recently got a new TV, and there are no "audio out" jacks, so we switched to using the adapter to plug them into the headphone jack. The problem is that then the only sound is coming through the headphones, and no one else can hear the TV. Is there a way around this?

Actually, when we plug into the audio jack in the back of the tv the headphones will not pair. When plugged into the audio jack on side of tv we cannot hear tv and headphones at same time.

The issue you are having is going to be based on the settings on the TV. If the TV does not have a setting that will allow both headphone and TV speakers to play at the same time, you may need to look into working around the issue. Does your Grandma just use the TV with one source device, like a Cable box? If so, you can see about feeding the headphones directly off of the cable box for her to listen to.
