RF-MRBTAD driver problem

I have purchased one of these tiny USB bluetooth adapters to use with my laptop running Windows 7 (64 bit).  I installed the included drivers, plugged it in, and Windows 7 found the driver and everything worked well.  I paired my headset with it and everything worked well.  The headset connected and worked well.  I turned the headset off to charge it, and when it was done charging I turned it on and it would not connect.  I opened the bluetooth devices window and went into the "control device" dialog and after a few attempts it reconnected.  I closed that dialog and it immediately disconnected my headset.  I didn't need to have this dialog opened at all times when it first connected, but that was the only way it would stay connected at this point.  I have since discovered that after the computer first boots up it will connect to a device properly one time, and every time afterward you must manually connect it and keep the dialog opened for it to stay connected.  If the device disconnects, it does not detect that it happened, and the dialog must be closed and reopened and often it takes several attempts to get the device reconnected.  After I go through this process a few times, it refuses to connect and stay connected at all.  It appears to be a problem with one of the drivers.  I'd like to know if this is a known issue that has been resolved in some updated set of drivers and, if so, which drivers I need to download to fix it.  Thanks in advance.

Re: RF-MRBTAD driver problem

Hello Bobshaffer,

I would suggest that you install the latest driver from the product page for the RF-MRBTAD which can be found here. Make sure to download the file to your computer then install it (don't click the run option when downloading, click save then open once it is downloaded). After doing this restart the computer and your connection issue should be resolved.

Re: RF-MRBTAD driver problem

The software installer for that driver won't work here.  It stops functioning with no useful messages at "Validate Blyetooth Device" around 5% complete...  I still have the same problem as always.  It connects and disconnects fine a few times between reboots now, instead of just one time.  Anyway, that driver you linked won't install.  Any other ideas, or any idea why the driver would be not installing?

Re: RF-MRBTAD driver problem

I have the same problem with Win 7 32-bit.  I went through Win device manager and updated the drivers.  I can connect now, but I get clicks and crackles in the background all the time.  Very annoying.  Would Vista version of drivers work for me?  That's what a friend used on her PC for her Sony set up.  Please advise.

Re: RF-MRBTAD driver problem

Hello mme0603,

I would not suggest using the Windows Vista driver with a Windows 7 computer. With regards to the crackling noise, have you tried pairing the headset to any other Bluetooth devices to establish if the crackling is always present?
