RF-G1185 HDMI Switch/Directv Compatability Issue

I have an RF-G1185 HDMI switch, being used with an LG 32LN520B TV with a single HDCP compliant HDMI input. On the switch I have a Wii-U and a Directv client device C41-700. Both work with TV just fine alone, but through the switch the Directv box does not work. There is no sound, and a message is displayed from Directv box stating "Your TV does not support this program's content protection. Replacing the TV's HDMI cable with component cables will allow you to view program."

Seems like there's HDCP handshake issues going on, but don't know why. Have brand new high speed HDMI cables, and have tried the disconnect and reset recommendations.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: RF-G1185 HDMI Switch/Directv Compatability Issue

Hello Jackstack,

Welcome to Community@ Rocketfish™!

HDCP does sound like the culprit of the issue you are having. Try turning off and unplugging everything. Once everything is down, start at the source device and work your way downstream. Power on the Direct client, once it is on and booted up, then power on the switch. Once it boots power on the TV and see if you get recognized signal. If you still get the same message then the Direct box does not want to allow signal to be forwarded through this switch, in which case trying a different switch will be your next option.
