Hello Tyl3r,
Welcome to Community@ Rocketfish™!
Are you connecting the phone charger cord to the adapter to provide adequate charge to power the display output? Once you have the cords connected, and the phone shows HDMI Cable Connected, if you go into the phone settings does it have a setting for Display Out, or Screen Mirroring?
Regards,
Jon

I have tried everything that was said an the posts I found for the RF1171
This does not work for my Tab 4
I have a Samsung tv-
It finds the HDMI- MHL but the Tab itself dows not connect and tv says it can not be found.
This continues if I leave the HDMI with adapter, connected only to the TV.
After TV reset, and disconnect from TV I have no devices found.
Upon reconnecting, (after having unlplugged everything) Again it finds the Cable and HML Adapter but says to check devices power, cable connection and source selection.
I hope that makes sense.
Thanks for your help

Hello mnmmacd2015,
Thank you for responding!
This is just an adapter. If the phone and TV see each other, but the phone is not sending active signal for the TV to display, there is most likely a display setting in the phone Operating System that needs enabled. Because every phone manufacturer terms it something different, I would have to refer you to your phone manufacturer, for verification that the phone is MHL compatible, and how to get the phone to start sending that signal.

Jon
