Hi, checked around all over the internet and haven't found a solution to this.
I have an earlier generation Nexus 7 (the ones with only one camera).
Had bought a RocketFish HDMI adapter for it in the hopes of using it on my Sharp HDTV.
However, when I follow the instructions for use, not only does it not work, it automatically and repeatedly crashes my tablet (I'll plug it in, power my tablet on, after a second the screen will freeze before rebooting. This happened three times before I gave up. Note: at no point does anything ever show up on my HDTV's screen).
I've tried various different methods (plug things in one at a time, powered off, powered on, plugged in with no charging cable, etc.), but the results have always been the same.
I tried emailing RocketFish customer support about the problem when I first got the adapter, but never got a response. I'm trying here, now, as a last ditch attempt before I give up and throw the thing away.

Hello skoffs,
Welcome to Community@ Rocketfish™!
From what I am seeing of the Nexus 7, they do not support MHL output. From what I can tell, they use a similiar service called Slimport. Unfortunately we do not carry any Slimport devices, but they are available, and should resolve your issue.

Well, that's just wonderful.
Any idea if the MHL adapter works with any of the other Nexus products?
(my roommate has a Nexus 5. If I can't use it, I might as well give it to her so someone can get some use out of the thing).

Hello skoffs,
Thank you for responding!
From what I see, Nexus is pretty much designed with Slimport in mind. If you have other Android devices this will work with most of the phones, and tablets, but Nexus seems pretty well unusable with MHL.
