Low speaker volume

I have very low volume from the speakers. the tx is connected to the audio output of the Sony Bravia TV. It says FIX on them. The TV is connected to my DISH receiver. I have the volume on the Dish unit and the Rocketfish receiver up all the way. The Sony has a speaker setting to select between TV Speakers or Audio System. The internal tv speakers are disabled when you select Audio System, and the TV volume control does not affect the Audio System - "this function disabled" is displayed if you try.

Re: Low speaker volume

Hello SDHof,

Welcome to Community@ Rocketfish™!

What is the Model # of the Rocketfish equipment you are working with? Where you show "FIX" is that on the connection, or is it something that shows on the screen? That sounds like Fixed Audio, which means the TV just sends out a set amount of audio. In order for the TV remote to adjust the volume, you would need a Variable audio output.

Re: Low speaker volume

It is fixed output from the tv's secondary speaker output, as marked at the connection. I dont care about controlling it from the tv itself. I dont use that regularly anyways. The dish unit can do that. I turn the dish volume up to max, but only a whisper out the remote speakers. The rocketfish seems to only attenuate the sound, is that the case?

Re: Low speaker volume

Hello SDHof,

Thank you for responding!

What is the model # for the Rocketfish equipment you are using? From what you are saying it sounds like the TV is outputting PreAmp signal that is more intended for a Home Theatre Receiver.
