Before we go any further, are you comfortable with replacing the battery yourself? It does involve opening the unit up which will void any warranty you may have, and will also probably involve precision soldering.
BB does not sell the batteries themselves. However, if you bring the iPod touch to GS, they can ship it out to the service center for an estimate of the repair cost. I would strongly recommend you do this, instead of trying to fix it yourself.

Hello CBFPOB,
If your iPod Touch is still covered under the factory warranty, you may qualify for covered service through Apple. If you have a Performance Service Plan or Geek Squad® Black Tie Protection through Best Buy®, you may bring the ailing iPod to your local store for further assistance and service options. If you aren't covered by either, Apple offers an out of warranty iPod battery replacement option. You can find their FAQ about the service here.
As iPod batteries are not considered user accessible, I would strongly recommend seeking a replacement through an Apple authorized service provider. I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
