This is really for a Best Buy worker, since the e-mails take too long to reach them. Is the iPod Touch 8GB, 2nd Generation in stock?

Well, in the technical sense, I work in a call center where I take calls for best buy, but I'm not actually employed by Best Buy.

Well that's nice. Okay, so I checked out the link and when it says if it's available, it shows the "Add to Cart" button. Does that mean they only have them available for online purchase, or does it mean it's available for both, online and store purchase?

check to the left of the add to card button. There should be a place where it says "store availability" Click that link, plug in your zip code and it'll pull up the 6 closest stores to you based on your zip code. If the store has it available, it'll be in black print, if it's not, it'll be grayed out.

Of course, if you do place an order online, and it's available in your local store, you could always choose to have it picked up in the store. In that case, you'd add it to your cart, then when you go to check out, you'll have the option to either ship it to your or pick it up. If you pick it up, you can do so at your store in about an hour or so, otherwise you'll have to wait for a few days (and pay shipping charges) for the ipod to be delivered to you.

if the name of the store location is in black print, it's available at that particular location.
