Ipod Nano Help

I am having major problems with my ipod nano.  When I plug it into my computer it says connected on my ipod but it's not syncing into itunes.  I have tried other usb ports on my computer and the cord is not working, but the usb ports work fine when I plug in my printer.  I have talked to apple techs who told me that Norton was conflicting with the new version of itunes.  The apple techs told me that I would have to uninstall and reinstall it.  Norton was not the problem.  I need some help trying to figre this out because it's driving me nuts.  Itunes says that the ipod cannot be found.  The ipod is not in "My Computer" icon either.

Re: Ipod Nano Help

This seems you have a Norton as an anti virus. Well, if it does have conflict problems with Norton, have you tried installing and uninstalling the ipod tunes? I have a Norton before but my itunes worked well in my pc. Sorry if I was not much of a help.

Re: Ipod Nano Help

Hello jenbear,

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles with your iPod Nano.  I researched the issue and did find that there was a software conflict with Norton Anti-virus and some iPods, but it appears that was resolved a long time ago my Norton.

I would recommend the following:  make sure that your Norton software is up-to-date.  Also, download and install the latest version of iTunes (if you haven't already).  It's usually a good idea to restart your computer after a new installation.  If these two actions don't resolve the issue, try Apple's troubleshooting tips, found here. If the problem is still not resolved, you may need to consult Apple for additional assistance.

I hope this helps.  Thanks for writing!
