Hello, I'm 31 and paralyzed from the shoulders down. My parents live in my house with me to take care of me. Because I had a tracheotomy at the time of my accident, I can't shout as loud as I used to. Sometimes, it's hard to hear me calling for someone if they are at the other end of the house. I've been trying to find voice controlled intercom like systems to help with this. I want it wireless as well so I can put it anywhere. I have found ones that look like a little answering machines but not what I want.

Not too long ago I saw a product that I shrugged off and regret it now, because I want it. It was white, just a round speaker, I think it wasn't much thicker than a fire detector, and was wireless and voice controlled and you could say the word to make it turn on and talk to it and it would work just like an intercom with another one placed at the other end of the house or even outside. It wasn't that expensive and did more than the intercom like thing but I don't remember exactly what the extra things it did were. I've been trying to find it again, and can't. Can anyone help me? I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you!

I’m sorry to see that our community was not able to offer any suggestions for your particular situation.  I’m by no means a product expert, so my advice would be to contact your local store or research the item on BestBuy.com.

I wouldn't know where to be and especially visiting a store. Takes a few hours just to go to one place so I can't just go browsing or whatever. Plus, I don't know a lot of the "lingo" with electronics and everything. That makes it hard to find what I want online, you know? Oh well I guess, thanks

Unfortunately I haven't seen any such systems myself that are voice controlled. I wish I could offer better news

that's okay, I saw one not too long ago but didn't have money so didn't even think about saving the page. I'm an idiot. It looked like just a fairly flat white speaker that could be mounted on the wall. It could be voice controlled and interact with another exact speaker and could work like an intercom. I think you could also play the radio and probably some other things maybe sync iPod or something with it but I'm not 100% sure. I am 100% sure about the intercom like option. I wish I would've saved it because I can't find it again
