i am going to the beach for vacation, and am wondering what a good, portable "all-in-one" system is to take with me? This would be something that could be carried into a room, or on the patio. Something similar to the Beats Box, but looking for something that isnt Beats audio.

Can you define what you are intending with All In One system?
For me my music comes from my phone (Spotify) and that is my source.
For output I use a portable speaker. For that I strongly recommend the Bose Soundlink. I think you can pair 2 to the phone. I bought this speaker for my daughter 5 years ago and it is still going strong. And what amazes me is how big it sounds.
For myself I have AfterShokz bone conduction headphones. These are great becuase you can still hear what is going on around you and they are not going to fall off and work out very well for working out. Granted they dont' sound as good as ear buds or headphones, they are more like having external speakers.
The Soundlink is small enough you can carry it easily in your carry on bag. There have been a number of upgrades to the SoundLink since I purchased mine. But they are worth a look

A lot of BOSE merchandise can be cost prohibitive if you are on a budget. The second best choice is JBL because there are a lot of cool designs and the audio is pretty good, I see people on the streets here all the time with their portable JBL speakers on their backpacks and the soun is awesome from them.

Hello there, Jenifer009!
Thank you for this awesome question! Having some good tunes on the beach is essential, so I understand the want to get a new device for it. As mentioned above, are you looking for a wireless speaker or more-so a pair of wireless headphones just for yourself?
If you're looking for a wireless speaker, and need it to be waterproof, JBL does offer some great options with the Charge 5 or the XTREME 3. Both of these are in the mid-high price range. So, it'll ultimately come down to what you're looking to spend. If you're looking for a small hand-sized unit, JBL also has the Clip 3. Other brands that make a great wireless speaker are Sonos, Bose, Ultimate Ears, etc. All of these will pack a great punch, while still being durable on the go.
If you are looking for a pair of wireless headphones, for a vacation, the AfterShokz bone conduction set is a great callout. You'll be able to stay attentive to what's going on around you, while still enjoying your music. My best recommendation would be to head into your local Best Buy and try some of these out for yourself. This way, you can see what you want to spend and what features are important to you.
If you have any questions on this, please let me know! Otherwise, have an awesome vacation at the beach!
