I had $100.00 in reward points from a previous purchase. I was unable to use the points before they expired so I called the support team for assistance. When the points were added to my account back in July, no one told me that it would be a one time courtesy only.
I was reviewing my account this morning only to find the reward was gone. I called the support team who stated how sorry they were to tell me the reward will not be renewed and there was nothing they could do. When I asked to speak with the supervisor, he was also very sorry to say the reward was gone and there was no one else to talk to about it.
I have been shopping with Best Buy for many years. So, Best Buy, I am too very sorry. I will miss the friendly store staff and personalized service I would get when I shopped at the store. With todays very competitive electronic market, I will have to take my loyality somewhere else as I am very disappointed in this reward program restraints. This is not how a company should treat loyal customers. If there is anyone reading this forum who cares about customer loyality, I am willing to listen.

Most people have very busy lives. One way Best Buy can take care of their loyal customers: Send email alerts reminding them of expiring points! Possibly there would be fewer loyal customers posting their frustrations with points that have expired.

Good morning kim005,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out to us regarding your expired My Best Buy certificate.
Having a My Best Buy certificate expire once would feel like a great opportunity missed, especially a significant reward like a $100 certificate. I know I've definitely wanted to kick myself for forgetting about a reward before I've been able to use it. I'm glad to hear that we may have been able to make a concession in your case to reissue the reward back in July though!
Under our My Best Buy Terms, certificates are typically valid for 60 days and cannot be reissued once expired. As we already reissued this reward certificate once, an exception to our terms, we would be unable to reissue it again. Continuing to reissue certificates after they have expired would render any provided expiration date moot.
We do our best to ensure our customers are aware of the expiration date, by including it in the notification email that a certificate has been issued, and on BestBuy.com when reviewing your rewards. As any notification emails may be missed (blocked, filtered, simply disregarded, etc.) we encourage our customers to manage their rewards from BestBuy.com.
We greatly appreciate you reaching out to share your experience and feedback. I truly hope that you will reconsider shopping with us again in the future.
