What happened to my account?

When I made a $1200 purchase at a Best Buy store on April 26, the customer service guy claimed I had two accounts - one current and one very, very old one showing an address from over 10 yrs ago. He said he’d merge them into one. I specifically asked to keep my history of purchases and asked NOT to lose my purchase history of all the things I’ve bought at Best Buy over the years. And yet, that’s exactly what he did. My “new” account shows me as a brand new customer, and every prior purchase Ive made in person or online has been wiped out. In addition, I just spent $1200 at Best Buy in April, and I only have...a *total* of 142 points toward Reward Certificates? How is that possible?

Welcome to the forum and thank you for reaching out to us! Having multiple memberships can certainly cause some confusion when managing your rewards so it was kind of the store to offer to merge them for you. While kind of them, I'm unsure of what they could have been referring to, as stores do not possess this ability. It sounds like they may have simply modified the member ID linked to your BestBuy.com account.
