So I have always been able to bank my points and then use them when needed in the past but guess that changed when you changed your program. I have read and reviewed the entire terms for the program here:
There is not one mention that there will be a change from banking points to auto-issue if you go from elite to a regular membership. In fact the only place that an auto issuance of certificates is even mentioned is if you are inactive for 12 months which I have not been.
So last year after buying a TV, which would also make me elite again, we got a best buy credit card for the additional points knowing that sometime this year I would need a new laptop. I go to look on there now to convert my points to a reward certificate and see that the points were autoissued.
Again, this is nowhere in the official terms that you have on your site so I would like to speak to someone regarding getting my $150 in rewards back. I now see it is on other places on the site but I only read the small print terms and it is not mentioned anywhere in there nor does it mention that the banking of points will change when you go from elite to standard. I have changed the rewards back to where I will issue my rewards but do not feel that I erred since your terms do not dictate the auto-issuing of certificates or this changing when being downgraded from elite. I appreciate your response to this.

Logging into BestBuy.com to find your rewards were auto-issued when you expected them to be banked would certainly throw anyone for a loop. I'm glad to hear you're familiar with our My Best Buy Terms. As you mentioned you thoroughly read through them, you will recall the section I've pasted below, which can be found under "Receiving Points":
Your status as a My Best Buy Elite or Elite Plus member will begin 15–20 days after purchase date, will continue through the end of the following calendar year, and will end on the last day of the following February. In any subsequent year, a member requalifies for My Best Buy Elite or Elite Plus status when the member spends a total $1500 (for Elite) or $3500 (for Elite Plus) on qualifying purchases during that calendar year. If a member does not requalify for such status in the second or subsequent year, such status will expire at the end of February in the third or subsequent calendar year and the member's program membership will revert to a standard My Best Buy program membership.
It is within reason that should your tier status be reverted to a regular membership, you would not retain the benefits of a higher tier, which would include banking reward points. Should your tier status expire, and then you requalify for this status, you would need to reset your certificate preference to banking, as this is an optional benefit and not a default setting. For more details, you may wish to review the post below.
Under these same terms linked above, reward certificates typically expire after 60 days, unless otherwise noted. Once expired, we’re generally unable to reissue them. We do our best to make our customers aware a certificate has been issued, as we send out email notifications that include the expiration date. As emails may be filtered, overlooked, or even blocked though, we recommend members manage their rewards from BestBuy.com, where certificates can be viewed as well. We have another article below that may be helpful in regards to expired rewards.
Please know that these terms have been in place for awhile, and that there have been no major changes to our program lately. Unfortunately there is no place under the official terms expressly stating the facts of each tier other than how points are accrued making that seem that that is the only official difference. There is no place stating anything about not being able to accrue points or how the tiers differ. Your other links are for areas outside of the main website so there would be no reason for a typical person to look this up.

Hi there AustinMontgomery,
Please note that I did link our Benefits by Membership Level page, which is found on BestBuy.com, in my original response. Furthermore, if you had reward certificates expire, it would see that you were indeed awarded your points for these purchases.
