Rewards points not received for purchases made online.

Rewards points not received for purchase made on Best Buy website.   On September 27, I purchased a new Washer and Dryer.  

Order Number {removed per forum guidelines}

 

During check out I Selected to recieved $70.00 in rewards points for the purchase using my CitiBank Best Buy CC for payment.   Scheduled delivery and install date for October 23.     Purchased of the washer and dryer where post to my BB CC account.   Paid off the BB CC balance on October 1st.   I never carry over a balance on any CC.  Don't believe in monthly payment besides a house mortgage.   

 

Waited beyond the 15 days for the points to show up.   The purchase never show up in my rewards history.  

Tried to fill out report missing point.  Just get "An unexpected error occurred"  when I click on the blue tab report missing points after filling the information required.   So I can up load my BB CC statement showing that I paid the for the purchase in fill just days after placing the order online.

The 5% back in points on everyday purchases is so enticing that I have to at least consider using my own My Best Buy credit card whenever I shop, and a larger purchase, like that of a washer and dryer, could certainly result in a significant amount of points, so I can understand questioning why points may not have been awarded yet.  It doesn't look like you checked out as a guest when placing the order, so it should already be attached to your rewards account.  That's likely why you had trouble trying to report the order.

 

While it can generally take up to 20 days for points from an eligible purchase to officially post, that time frame wouldn't actually start until after the purchase has been completed in full, which means once the washer and dryer have been delivered.  If your delivery is currently scheduled to take place on 10/23, then you should see points emerge as pending afterwards. Please feel free to stop by the forum next week once the delivery has been performed if for some reason points aren't pending and we can take a closer look.

Thanks on replying back to my message. 

Interesting you say that.  Did the rewards system changed?   I originally purchased the washer and dryer first of the year with a dilvery install date couple weeks later.   Point where added to my account very quickly.  Unfortunately the COVID-19 hit and Best Buy stop appliance installs to protect their employees and installer.  Since my Condo is on the second level and set of stairs are involved I talk to Best Buy customer service and cancel the order.   I am to old the bring a set of appliances up a flight of stairs by myself.   Refund was made back to my BB Card and points where removed from my rewards account.   I will wait and see if the points are rewarded after the install date.

It looks like Derek did a great job explaining how My Best Buy points work after you make a qualifying purchase, but I'm happy to follow up to your post while he's away now.

 

If you're interested in reading more about the program and point earning, you're welcome to review this here. I hate to hear your install date may have been pushed due to COVID-19, but I'm confident your delivery will go smoothly next week and your points will post as expected.
