Rewards points applied, just not to MY account.

In November I made a very large purchase. I gave the clerk my information and I assumed that my points had been applied to my rewards account. Flash forward to now. I'm considering making another very large purchase and wanted to see how many reward points I have. I don't; I have zero points. I dug up my receipt and thought all I had to do was add them to my account. But every time I tried to do this online I received an error message. Next, I tried to call the 888 number, the automated system was the only thing available to me at this time, but it said the points from my purchase had already been added to "an account". I only have one account, and if the points weren't applied during the time of purchase to my account then where did they go? And when did this happen? Anyone have this problem before, and know-how to resolve this? I honestly feel as if somehow someone has taken my points, but I don't want to assume.

I know how exciting it is to make these larger purchases, especially when you have the My Best Buy rewards to look forward to on a future purchase. Under our My Best Buy Terms, there are a great deal of reasons why a purchase may be awarded no points, from selecting financing, paying entirely with a Best Buy gift card, or even some excluded items, such as Apple products. I would be happy to take a closer look at your purchase from November to see what may be going on.
