So, I have about $200 in my points banking for rewards, and recently with my GCU expiring, I have made the switch to entirely digital purchases. However, now I cannot use my Rewards certificates to purchase PSN credit due to it being classified as a Gift Card. I was curious as to why this is, and furthermore, will there be any changes in the future to re-allow Rewards members to use their certificates to purchase digital currency. I spent well over $8,000 last year with Best Buy and accumulated points with the intention to use them to buy PSN, and sadly now I am stuck with all that money sitting there and nothing to buy.
Any info is appreciated.

Welcome back to the forums, and thanks for being an Elite Plus My Best Buy member.
I can totally understand wanting to get a PSN gift card with those My best Buy certificates. Physical games take up a bunch of room, so buying digital can be preferable in some cases.
We updated our My Best Buy Program Rules a little over a year ago to make that change excluding Point Of Sale Activation cards. All details behind that decision are internal to Best Buy, so I won't be able to share them. While I appreciate your feedback on this change, I do not anticipate another change of course on this going forward.
I hope that you're able to find a physical product to spend those certificates on.
Please let me know if I can help out with anything else.
